The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee held a ceremony on June 28 to grant letters of appointment to the  experts included in its talent pool for state affairs. Wang Yang, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended and addressed the ceremony.

In his address, Wang pointed out that as an innovative measure of the CPPCC National Committee, the building of the talent pool for state affairs represents a step forward by the CPPCC National Committee in exploring how to enhance the ability of people's political consultative conferences to discuss state affairs.

He called for efforts to build a high-level talent pool which can serve as a platform for more talents to make contributions to the country.

He stressed effective use of the talent pool, requiring the CPPCC National Committee to establish mechanisms that can maximize the role of the pool and fully motivate experts to engage in the CPPCC National Committee's work such as surveys and political consultation.

He also expected the selected experts to draw on their expertise and strengths to study issues of strategic and overall importance including those that will matter most in the future.

A total of 99 experts in economics, politics, culture, society and eco-civilization are the first to be included in the pool which is designed to bring in former members of the CPPCC National Committee as well as non-member talents.
