BEIJING -- Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, has called for improving policy research and offering practical proposals to support the building of a robust domestic market.

Wang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks at a consultative meeting on research findings presented by the central committees of non-CPC political parties and representatives of personages without party affiliation.

Referencing their research and policy recommendations on the issue, Wang stressed that a strong domestic market provides strategic support for fostering the new development pattern and promoting high-quality development. It also serves the important task of comprehensively deepening reform and building a high-standard socialist market economy.

He called for focusing on the objectives for the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030) and conducting in-depth research on key issues related to building a robust domestic market, so as to provide more substantive and practical policy recommendations for the Party and the government.

Representatives of several non-CPC political parties and personages without party affiliation presented research findings and offered policy suggestions at the meeting, which was presided over by Li Ganjie, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee.
