Members of the Chairperson's Council of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) attended a painting and calligraphy exhibition at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing on Sept 9.
Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the exhibition, which is part of celebrations organized by the CPPCC National Committee for the 75th anniversary of the founding of the CPPCC.
The exhibit's 192 pieces include Chinese paintings, oil paintings, prints, sculptures, cartoons and calligraphy. The majority of the works were created by current and former CPPCC National Committee members, with 74 pieces specially made to celebrate the anniversary.
The exhibition is divided into four sections, each presenting the historic transformations that have taken place since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the country's achievements in the new era, and the active role of the CPPCC in the efforts to build New China, explore reforms, and realize the Chinese Dream under the leadership of the CPC.
Attendees said the exhibition provided them with a deeper understanding of the unity, perseverance and innovation that people of all ethnic groups and sectors have demonstrated in the new era. It also underscored the remarkable accomplishments and transformations made under the leadership of the Party, strengthening the attendees' confidence and determination to follow the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and accelerate the advancement of Chinese modernization.
The CPPCC should continue to practice core socialist values, encourage its members to produce more outstanding cultural and artistic works, and unite people to bolster cultural confidence and contribute to building China into a country with a strong socialist culture.
Those attending the exhibition included Shi Taifeng, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee; Li Shulei, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee; and CPPCC National Committee vice-chairpersons Shen Yueyue, Wang Yong, Zhou Qiang, Bater, Su Hui, Gao Yunlong, Chen Wu, Mu Hong, Xian Hui, Wang Dongfeng, Jiang Xinzhi, Jiang Zuojun, He Baoxiang, Wang Guangqian, Qin Boyong, Zhu Yongxin, and Yang Zhen.
