China and African countries will work together to advance their respective modernization, according to leaders at a high-level meeting of the ongoing 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) held on Thursday.
China has made tremendous efforts toward opening its market, said Jiang Ying, chair of market consultancy Deloitte China and a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Leung Chun-ying, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and former leader of the Hong Kong SAR, said in an interview with China Daily that with its unique advantages, Hong Kong could assist the country as a whole to 'better complete the last mile' in achieving high-quality development.
