The fourth Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development opened in Macao on Oct 22. Leung Chun-ying, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
Leung said that developing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area provides a new platform for enriching the practice of "one country, two systems." In the seven years since the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was released, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao have worked together in close coordination and pressed ahead with determination, gradually turning the ambitious blueprint for the Greater Bay Area into reality, he noted.
He expressed hope that all parties attending the conference would seize this valuable opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions and exchanges, build broad consensus, and inject fresh impetus into the development of the Greater Bay Area.
Themed "Integrating the Greater Bay Area for a Connected World," the conference was jointly held by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the People's Government of Guangdong Province, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region.
