Bater, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a delegation of CPPCC members on a visit to Suriname from Oct 11 to 12.
He met with Surinamese President Jennifer Simons and National Assembly Speaker Ashwin Adhin during the visit.
Bater noted that China-Suriname relations have developed steadily and yielded fruitful cooperation outcomes since the establishment of diplomatic ties.
He said China stands ready to work with Suriname to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, enhance strategic mutual trust, carry forward the traditional friendship, and promote continued progress in the China-Suriname strategic partnership of cooperation. The CPPCC National Committee is ready to play an active role in this regard, he added.
The Surinamese side stated that over the past 50 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Suriname-China ties have continued to deepen, with a solid and profound friendship and increasingly close strategic cooperation.
The Surinamese side also stressed that the country will continue to uphold the one-China principle, maintain close high-level exchanges with the Chinese side, enhance exchanges on governance, and expand cooperation across various fields to deliver greater benefits to the two peoples.
