On Oct 10, Jiang Xinzhi, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a team to conduct a survey of the radio program The Small Horn. The team consisted of members of the Committee on Culture, Historical Data and Studies of the CPPCC National Committee, along with leading officials from relevant departments. The survey focused on boosting children's cultural development.
The team members toured the program's recording studios, production control rooms, and office areas, and gained a detailed understanding of its daily work and multimedia development.
They gained firsthand insight into the program's 70-year legacy of dedication and responsibility.
They noted that the program's longevity, spanning 70 years, stems from its unwavering adherence to the Party's leadership in culture, firm commitment to the orientation of advanced socialist culture, alignment with the changing times, and adoption of a people-oriented approach.
It disseminates mainstream values, carries forward Chinese cultural heritage, and promotes the social ethos of the time in a way that appeals to children and adolescents, they said.
The program has remained committed to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, serving as a main front of mainstream media.
It has also deeply grasped the rules governing communication with children and young people and worked to build a multi-dimensional communication framework, thus creating a new development system and cultivating generations of high-caliber talents devoted to the cause of children's development, they added.
The team members called on the radio program to keep pace with the times, deeply cultivate the fertile soil of children's culture, and devote themselves to creating more outstanding works that promote truth, goodness, and beauty and are beloved by children on their journey ahead. This will help foster cultural confidence in children's hearts and embed the red genes in their lifeblood, they added.
Greater efforts should be made to fulfill their roles as creators of high-quality children's cultural works, pioneers in promoting moral education, and advisors for cultural education, thereby contributing wisdom and strength to nurturing a new generation of well-rounded socialist builders and successors, they said.
