The 2026 Forum on Overseas Innovation and Entrepreneurship, hosted by the China Zhi Gong Party, opened in Changsha, Hunan province, on Sept 22.

Jiang Zuojun, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the China Zhi Gong Party, attended the opening ceremony and delivered an address.

Jiang expressed hope that all participants would take the forum as a new starting point, embrace a global vision while looking beyond individual regions, and write a glorious new chapter in how overseas Chinese serve the country on the new journey of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Jiang expressed his earnest expectations to the vast number of overseas Chinese, returned overseas students, and young people from the communities of overseas Chinese and returned overseas Chinese, urging them to deepen their love for the country, fully integrate their personal aspirations into the great cause of national rejuvenation, and translate their academic strengths and expertise into actions that serve the motherland.

He called on them to pursue innovation through diligent and down-to-earth work, and promote high-quality development. It is necessary to align their personal strengths with the demands of national industrial development, actively engage in innovation and entrepreneurship after returning to China, and promote the domestic application and commercialization of cutting-edge technological achievements, he said.

He also encouraged overseas Chinese and returned overseas Chinese to jointly build a friendly bridge that facilitates understanding, exchanges, and mutual learning between China and other countries, firmly uphold cultural confidence, and strengthen people-to-people ties, thereby making more contributions to enhancing international friendly exchanges.
