Zhou Qiang, vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, led a team of non-Communist Party of China members of the CPPCC National Committee to conduct a survey in East China's Jiangxi province from Sept 14 to 16. The survey focused on local efforts related to the legal protection of Red resources in Nanchang and Jiujiang.

From Sept 17 to 18, the team visited revolutionary memorial sites, Red relics, and other historical sites in Jingdezhen. They also held a symposium with leading officials from the province's related departments and representatives of cultural heritage workers at the primary level to gather their opinions and suggestions.

The team stated that in recent years, Jiangxi has been committed to fulfilling the significant political responsibility of protecting and inheriting its Red resources. The province has coordinated with relevant parties and implemented various legal and institutional measures to explore the protection and promotion of Red resources, achieving tangible results, they noted.

The team called for being clear-eyed about the challenges while recognizing historic achievements in Red resources protection. Efforts should be made to uphold a scientific approach to legislation, strict law enforcement and impartial administration of justice, strengthen coordination and collaboration, and reinforce safeguards and support, so as to preserve Red historical legacy, they said.‌

In addition, the team called on the CPPCC to maximize its role as a specialized consultative body by offering policy suggestions and building consensus, thereby demonstrating its sense of responsibility and making contributions to the legal protection of Red resources.

Xu Liquan, vice-chairman of the Committee on Social and Legal Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee, Li Qun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, and 13 CPPCC National Committee members, including three from Jiangxi, as well as Xu Zhong, vice-chairman of the CPPCC Jiangxi Provincial Committee, participated in the survey. Song Fulong, chairman of the CPPCC Jiangxi Provincial Committee, and Shi Ke, vice-governor of Jiangxi, attended the symposium.
