Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee and chairman of the China Economic and Social Council, met separately in Hangzhou on Sept 16 with Essam El-Din Farid‌, speaker of the Egyptian Senate; Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, chairman of Indonesia's National Economic Council; Abdelkader Amara, president of the Union of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions of Africa and president of Morocco's Economic, Social and Environmental Council; and Ioannis Paidas, president of the International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions.

Wang gave an overview of China's economic and social development and the work of the CPPCC, and exchanged views with them on deepening exchanges, strengthening practical cooperation, promoting the establishment of a more just and equitable global governance system, and jointly advancing the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.
