2026 China Economic and Social Forum held in Hangzhou

The 2026 China Economic and Social Forum was held in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on Sept 15. Eighty-five Chinese and foreign guests gathered to conduct in-depth exchanges under the theme "Improving the Global Governance System and Moving towards a Community of Shared Future for Humanity". Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee and chairman of China Economic and Social Council, attended the forum and delivered a keynote speech.

Wang stressed the need to enhance exchanges on governance experience, uphold the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity, and remain committed to achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration. It is imperative to follow and promote the common values of all humanity, and practice true multilateralism, while contributing wisdom, building consensus and pooling strength to improve global governance, he said. Wang also noted that China stands ready to work with all parties to stay firmly focused on the goal of building a community with a shared future for humanity, strengthen solidarity and cooperation, and overcome risks and challenges to jointly create a better future.
