Wang Yong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a team to Northeast China's Liaoning province from Aug 31 to Sept 4 to conduct a supervisory inspection on consolidating and developing the public sector and encouraging, supporting, and guiding the development of the non-public sector.

The team visited enterprises and government service platforms in Shenyang, Anshan, Yingkou and Dalian, and held in-depth discussions with business representatives and grassroots officials. The team members learned about the progress and heard opinions and suggestions on deepening reform of State-owned enterprises, fostering and expanding the private sector, transforming and upgrading the industrial structure, and improving the business environment.

The team noted that Liaoning has remained firmly committed to the goal of achieving breakthroughs in its full revitalization and to unswervingly developing the public sector, and encouraging, supporting, and guiding the non-public sector. The province has deepened the reform of State-owned enterprises to improve quality and efficiency, made every effort to support the growth of the private sector, and worked to create a sound business environment. These efforts have enabled enterprises under different forms of ownership to leverage their respective strengths and pursue coordinated development, translating national strategic plans into concrete steps for high-quality development, laying a solid industrial foundation and building strong momentum for the full revitalization of Northeast China in the new era.

The team stressed that the CPPCC should fulfil its role in consultative supervision and focus on common challenges facing the coordinated development of enterprises under different forms of ownership. It should conduct in-depth analysis of development bottlenecks, put forward practical and effective recommendations, help remove institutional barriers, facilitate the flow of production factors, and promote the effective implementation of the decisions and plans of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the team members said.

The CPPCC should also leverage its strengths as a specialized consultative body, give priority to key tasks in the outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30), and continue to make concerted efforts to offer advice and build consensus. It should work to promote fair competition and sound development among market entities of all types, and unleash the endogenous driving force of the old industrial base, helping write a new chapter in Liaoning's full revitalization in the new era and serving the country's overall development, according to the team.

Ma Jiantang and Qi Bin, vice-chairpersons of the Committee on Economic Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee, and Ding Shizhong, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, along with other CPPCC National Committee members, participated in the inspection tour.
