The China Committee on Religion and Peace (CCRP) hosted the 2026 International Seminar on Peace in Northeast Asia in Beijing from July 29 to 31.
Hong Liang, deputy secretary-general of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and executive vice-president of the CCRP, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
Religious figures, experts and scholars from China, the Republic of Korea and Japan held discussions on promoting peace and stability in Northeast Asia and strengthening people-to-people exchanges.
Participants called for giving full play to the positive role of religious communities, developing a correct understanding of history, security and development, jointly promoting the vision of peaceful development, and advancing mutually beneficial cooperation in the region.
