Yang Zhen, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party (CPWDP), led a team to Qinghai province in Northwest China from July 13 to 14 to conduct a survey on advancing the large-scale development of China's western regions in the new era to form a new pattern.

The team visited new energy technology enterprises, a demonstration park integrating green electricity and intelligent computing, a comprehensive bonded zone, the water resources dispatching service center of the Datong River to Huangshui River Water Diversion Project, a clean energy and green computing dispatch center, and the Qinghai Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment.

Yang stressed the importance of thoroughly implementing the strategic arrangements for the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period. He called for fully and faithfully applying the new development philosophy, pursuing greater environmental protection, a higher level of opening-up, and high-quality development, and safeguarding the ecological conservation red lines.

He also called for fostering new quality productive forces in light of local conditions, promoting green development through coordinated development of computing capacity and electricity resources, and strengthening Qinghai's competitive industries, including clean energy, salt lake resources, specialty agriculture and animal husbandry, and eco-cultural tourism.

Yang said Qinghai should accelerate its integration into the unified national market, expand high-standard institutional opening-up, address shortcomings in domestic demand, infrastructure, innovation talent and public services, better coordinate development and security, and strive to write a new chapter in advancing Chinese modernization in Qinghai.

During the visit, Yang held discussions with the leadership of the CPWDP Qinghai Provincial Committee and provided guidance on local education campaign.
