The 18th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 11th Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (TDSL) was held on July 8 in Beijing. Su Hui, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairwoman of the TDSL Central Committee, attended and addressed the meeting.
The meeting reported on the progress made in key tasks for the first half of 2026 and provided updates on related rectification efforts following the 2025 annual meeting on criticism and self-criticism of the TDSL Central Committee leadership. It also deliberated on and adopted the TDSL Central Committee's guidelines on leadership transitions for provincial organizations, outlined priorities for the second half of 2026, and approved relevant personnel appointments.
Su called for further strengthening TDSL members' commitment to the original aspirations of multiparty cooperation, pooling strength for unity and endeavor, and delivering high-quality work across the league in the second half of the year. By deepening the education campaign to enhance self-development and leveraging distinctive strengths to advance participatory governance, the TDSL should better demonstrate the new image of a socialist participating party, contributing to a strong start for the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), Su said.
Su emphasized that the TDSL must prioritize strict, pragmatic team building, uphold fundamental principles while empowering growth, enhance self-development with a high standard, conduct league affairs with quality and drive new progress in comprehensive, rigorous self-governance. Focusing on unity to advance development, the TDSL must act with greater responsibility and more effectively, and consciously play its part in advancing the overall agendas of the CPC and the country, so as to continuously achieve new outcomes in supporting the ruling party, fulfilling its duties for the nation and serving the people, she said.
Centered on the education campaign of participating in governance for the public good and working diligently for the people, as well as the year's theme of enhancing high-quality development, meeting participants from different regions conducted exchanges on their work progress.
