Wang Yong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a team of members of the Committee on Economic Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee to Inner Mongolia autonomous region from June 15 to 18. They conducted a survey on giving full play to the principal role of enterprises and promoting high-quality regional industrial cooperation.

The team members visited industrial parks, computing power bases, and key enterprises to learn about the cultivation of industries, implementation of major projects, allocation of production factors and cross-regional industrial collaboration, while listening to opinions and suggestions.

They acknowledged that Inner Mongolia has leveraged its industrial foundations and resource endowments and effectively brought into play the government's science-based guidance, the leading role of anchor enterprises and the supporting role of small and medium-sized enterprises. These efforts have smoothed industrial circulation, optimized cooperation models, steadily improved the quality and effectiveness of regional industrial cooperation, and enhanced economic resilience and endogenous dynamism, they added.

The team members stated that strengthening enterprises' principal role and deepening regional industrial cooperation are crucial for implementing the regional coordinated development strategy and supporting the new development pattern. They said that it is essential to combine government guidance with market orientation, remove regional barriers to the flow of production factors, promote the rational movement of factor resources, and foster deep integration of industrial chains, supply chains, and innovation chains, so as to build a regional industrial development pattern featuring complementary advantages and mutual benefit.

According to the team members, a correct view of governance performance should be upheld, with sustained and unremitting efforts to promote standardized and sustainable development of industrial cooperation. They also emphasized that as a specialized consultative body, the CPPCC is supposed to leverage its strengths to conduct targeted research on bottlenecks in regional industrial cooperation and offer pragmatic advice, contributing its wisdom and strength to supporting local high-quality development and ensuring a strong start to the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–30).
