Xian Hui, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a delegation of CPPCC members to visit Thailand from June 10 to 12.
She met with Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, President of the National Assembly and Speaker of the House of Representatives Sophon Saram and Vice-President of the National Assembly and President of the Senate Mongkol Surasajja.
Xian said that China is ready to work with Thailand to follow the important consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries, enhance mutual trust and cooperation, strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and promote the building of a community with a shared future. The CPPCC National Committee stands ready to contribute to this end, she added.
The Thai side noted that friendship between Thailand and China has a long-standing history, and that practical cooperation in various fields between the two countries is steadily advancing and yielding fruitful results. They lauded the major achievements China has made in its economic and social development, and said that Thailand unswervingly adheres to the one-China principle and stands ready to work with China to implement the important consensus of the two heads of state, so as to advance cooperation in all fields and deliver more benefits to the two peoples.
