Mu Hong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a team of CPPCC National Committee members to inspect Zhejiang province from July 6 to 10. Their inspection focused on promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation.

In Wenzhou, Yiwu and Hangzhou, the team members visited enterprises, institutions and opening-up platforms including the Wenzhou Port Group, Yiwu International Trade Market, Yiwu Comprehensive Bonded Zone, the Hangzhou Area of the China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone and Hangzhou Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone.

They held symposiums to learn about local progress in promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation and to listen to opinions and suggestions. In addition, Mu surveyed enterprises where some CPPCC members work, and the team engaged in "serving the people" activities in Yiwu.

The team members emphasized giving full play to the CPPCC's role as a specialized consultative body, and conducting in-depth research on optimizing the foreign investment environment, improving the overseas investment management system, enhancing comprehensive overseas service systems and promoting innovative development of trade, so as to offer pragmatic and targeted advice. These efforts will help translate duty performance results into concrete actions and continuously boost trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, contributing the CPPCC wisdom and strength to further expanding high-level opening-up and promoting high-quality development, they said.
