Wu Weishan, deputy director of the calligraphy and painting office of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a group of its members to conduct a survey in Anhui province from May 25 to 29. The event aimed to help the members create works under the theme "original aspiration forges great achievements, noble spirit enlightens mountains and rivers".

The group visited revolutionary sites, villages, tea plantations and cultural relics in Lu'an, Anqing and Xuancheng. They learned about the history of the Communist Party of China, local economic development and cultural initiatives. The members also used their brush and ink to depict the country's history, achievements in the new era, role models of the times and splendid landscape.

The year 2026 marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March. Members of the group said that through examining Red history and contemporary achievements, they deeply felt the arduous journey of the Party and its people-centered governance philosophy.

The group members emphasized that cultural prosperity signifies national prosperity. Through calligraphy and painting works, they aim to inherit revolutionary traditions, carry forward the historical heritage of the Chinese civilization, promote the spirit of the times and consolidate consensus and strength for ensuring a good start to the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period and advancing Chinese modernization.
