CPPCC surveys Xinjiang on advancing cultural nourishment

Jiang Xinzhi, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a group of CPPCC National Committee members from the Committee on Culture, Historical Data and Studies of the CPPCC National Committee to the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region from May 11 to 15. The group conducted an on-site survey on advancing cultural nourishment in Xinjiang and fostering a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.

They visited various regions, including the Bayingolin Mongolian autonomous prefecture, Aksu and Kashgar, and made on-site surveys at museums, primary and secondary schools, universities, revolutionary and cultural heritage sites, ancient cities, villages, towns, and communities and neighborhoods. The group conducted detailed research into local efforts to advance cultural nourishment in Xinjiang and foster a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation. They also convened symposiums, engaging in in-depth discussions with relevant officials, experts, scholars, and grassroots representatives to extensively solicit opinions and suggestions.

The group affirmed that Xinjiang has achieved remarkable results through the in-depth implementation of cultural nourishment. They emphasized the significance of this initiative in enhancing interaction, exchange and integration among ethnic groups, and realizing the overarching goal of social stability and long-term peace and tranquility.

The group pledged to offer advice and suggestions to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of China's fine traditional culture, ensure the deep and solid advancement of cultural nourishment work and help foster a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.
