A team from the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) visited the Ningxia Hui autonomous region from April 26 to 30 to conduct a special survey on strengthening east-west industrial collaboration and promoting the building of a new development pattern.
The team visited the cities of Yinchuan, Wuzhong, Zhongwei and Guyuan, where they surveyed industrial parks, poverty alleviation workshops, intangible cultural heritage workshops, distinctive agricultural and cultural tourism projects, relocation communities, and cultural and museum venues. They examined the development of Fujian-Ningxia industrial collaboration, the cultivation of local characteristic and advantageous industries, the role of enterprise development in driving employment and income growth for local residents, and efforts to forge a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation. The team also engaged in in-depth exchanges with grassroots officials and the public, soliciting their opinions and suggestions.
The team affirmed that Ningxia and Fujian have continuously expanded the scope of collaboration and innovated collaboration models. With sustained and effective efforts, they have established a multi-level, multi-field and all-around collaborative framework, setting a benchmark for national east-west collaboration, they noted.
The team members said that it is essential to thoroughly leverage the functions of the CPPCC and give full play to the professional expertise of its members. Further efforts should focus on collaborative construction of a modern industrial system, coordinated promotion of integrated urban-rural development, solid advancement of comprehensive rural vitalization and fostering of the community for the Chinese nation. In these areas, the CPPCC National Committee should conduct in-depth studies and research, actively engage in consultative deliberation and contribute consensus, wisdom and strength to bolstering industrial development in West China, they added.
Xu Lejiang, vice-chairperson of the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs, served as head of the survey team. Other participants included Wang Guanghua, vice-chairperson of the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs, Li Longxi, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, and three CPPCC National Committee members, as well as relevant officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
