Wang Yong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led a team from the Committee on Economic Affairs of the CPPCC National Committee to Chongqing from April 26 to 29 to conduct a survey on building a strong domestic market and accelerating the building of a new development paradigm.

The team visited business parks, innovation centers, logistics hubs and industrial bases, engaging in face-to-face exchanges with local officials and representatives from local communities and enterprises. They gained a detailed understanding of Chongqing's practical achievements in boosting consumption, expanding effective investment, advancing the development of a unified national market and enhancing the capacity of inland opening-up, while earnestly soliciting opinions and suggestions.

The team members acknowledged that in recent years, Chongqing has seized the major opportunity of integrating the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle into the building of a unified national market to address bottlenecks and challenges in economic circulation and continuously stimulate endogenous momentum and vitality.

The team members emphasized that efforts should focus on expanding domestic demand, promoting the mutual reinforcement of consumption upgrading and targeted effective investment, creating new demand through new forms of supply, and continuously improving the efficiency of economic circulation and the quality of development, to provide solid support for accelerating the building of a new development paradigm.

The CPPCC should leverage its strengths to conduct in-depth research on key and challenging issues, actively offer suggestions and advice, and contribute its wisdom and strength to helping write a new chapter of Chinese modernization in Chongqing and achieving a strong start to the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30), they said.
