A special survey team composed of non-Communist Party of China members from the Committee on Culture, Historical Data and Studies of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) visited Zhejiang province from April 25 to 29. The team was led by Shao Hong, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Jiusan Society. Their research focused on promoting new forms of mass literature and art in the internet era and advancing the healthy development of online audio-visual content.

The team made field visits to cities including Zhoushan, Ningbo, Jinhua and Quzhou. They went to integrated media centers, film and television production bases, cultural districts, cultural industry parks, traditional culture exhibition halls and short drama production studios. During the visits, they gained a detailed understanding of the development of new mass literature and art and online audio-visual industries in the region. The team also held discussions with relevant officials and front-line creators of new mass literature and art works, collecting a wide range of opinions and suggestions.

The team noted that Zhejiang province has achieved positive results in improving the development mechanisms for new forms of mass literature and art, fostering and expanding creative forces in this field, promoting the production of high-quality online audio-visual works and creating more growth drivers for the online audio-visual industry.

The team emphasized the importance of promoting new forms of mass literature and art in the internet era and advancing the healthy development of online audio-visual content. The CPPCC should leverage its role as a specialized consultative body and put forward practical opinions and suggestions by engaging in in-depth inspections and research on improving policy guidance, mobilizing more resources, enhancing content quality and strengthening talent development, they said.
