From March 18 to 22, Jiang Xinzhi, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led an inspection team of CPPCC National Committee members from the press and publication sector to Heilongjiang province. The team conducted a sector-specific inspection focused on enhancing the capacity of guiding mainstream public opinion and oversaw the implementation of related proposals.

The inspection team visited the cities of Mohe and Suihua, where they toured local integrated media centers, press groups, journalism schools, forest farms of local communities, and cultural and museum institutions. They held discussions with grassroots officials and residents, journalists, self-media practitioners, and university faculty and students, gaining an in-depth understanding of the development of mainstream public opinion platforms. The team also organized a special lecture on "cultural benefits for the people".

The inspection team emphasized the need to effectively grasp the principles of public opinion and publicity work in the information age, adding that CPPCC members in the press and publication sector should leverage their professional expertise, fulfill their duties, conduct democratic supervision, and propose practical suggestions.

They also urged CPPCC members to actively promote the Party's innovative theories, vigorously advocate the mainstream socialist values, public opinion, and culture, and provide strong ideological and public opinion support for consolidating and strengthening the mainstream thought in the new era, ensuring a successful start to the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30).
