The China Democratic League (CDL) held a work conference on March 17 on the research of the participating party theory and CDL history in Nanchang, Jiangxi province. The conference reviewed the work in these areas in 2025, conveyed and studied the guiding principles of instructions made by the CDL Central Committee's leaders in these areas, and outlined the tasks for 2026.

Wang Guangqian, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and executive vice-chairman of the CDL Central Committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

In his speech, Wang fully acknowledged the achievements made in 2025 regarding the research of the participating party theory and CDL history. He emphasized the need to accurately comprehend the requirements for strengthening the development of the participating political parties under socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, to deeply understand the new situation and tasks facing the research, and to consistently head in the proper research direction. Efforts should be made to ensure that research on CDL history supports ideological guidance and member education, striving to break new ground in the research work.

The conference recognized and commended outstanding units in theoretical research, excellent collectives in CDL historical research, and outstanding individuals in these research areas for the year 2025. Leading officials from eight provincial-level CDL organizations — Shanghai, Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Beijing, Zhejiang, Fujian, and Jiangxi — delivered speeches at the conference.

Cheng Hong, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and vice-chairperson of the CDL Central Committee, attended and presided over the opening session. Also present were Gu Qing, vice-chairperson of the CPPCC Jiangxi Provincial Committee and chairperson of the CDL Jiangxi Provincial Committee, and Liu Xiaozhuang, former vice-chairperson of the CPPCC Jiangxi Provincial Committee and former chairperson of the CDL Jiangxi Provincial Committee. The conference was also attended by leading officials from the CDL Central Committee and provincial-level CDL organizations.
