Ceremony held in Beijing to commemorate anniversary of Sun Yat-sen’s passing

A ceremony was held in Beijing on March 12 to commemorate the 101st anniversary of the passing away of Sun Yat-sen, a great forerunner of China's democratic revolution. The ceremony took place in Zhongshan Park, which was named in honor of Sun. It was attended by personages from various sectors of society in the capital city.

Zhou Qiang, vice-chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), on behalf of the CPPCC National Committee; Zheng Jianbang, vice-chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and chairperson of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK); Ma Lihuai, deputy head of the United Front Work Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee; Sun Shuo, vice-mayor of Beijing; and Wang Hong, vice-chairperson of the RCCK Central Committee and chairperson of the RCCK Beijing Municipal Committee, presented floral baskets to pay tribute to Sun at the ceremony.

He Baoxiang, vice-chairperson of the CPPCC National Committee and executive vice-chairperson of the RCCK Central Committee, presided over the event.
