On Jan 29, the American Chamber of Commerce in China held its 2026 annual appreciation dinner in Beijing. Wang Yong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, attended the event and delivered a speech.

Wang noted that in 2025, under the strategic guidance of the heads of state of China and the United States, the two countries engaged in constructive dialogue and interactions, stabilizing bilateral relations. Noting that the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China outlined a grand blueprint for China’s economic and social development over the next five years, Wang emphasized that the country will unwaveringly deepen reforms, expand opening-up, and promote innovation to continuously drive high-quality development and provide broad opportunities for enterprises worldwide.

Wang expressed hope that the industrial and commercial sectors of both nations would collaborate to build consensus on stable development, deepen practical bilateral and multilateral cooperation, and jointly advance China-US economic and trade relations toward steady and sustained growth.

Approximately 400 representatives from the political and business sectors of both China and the US attended the event.
