The General Office of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) convened its 2026 work conference on improving Party conduct and combating corruption on Jan 19. The conference aimed to fully implement the guiding principles of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee and advance efforts to enhance Party conduct and the anti-corruption drive within the CPPCC National Committee.
These measures are intended to provide strong support for a sound start to the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period. Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairperson and secretary-general of the CPPCC National Committee, addressed the conference.
Wang emphasized that new progress has been achieved in combining strict management with care and support and in improving Party conduct and combating corruption.
Wang stressed the need to consistently maintain strict Party discipline and to advance the high-quality development of the work of the CPPCC National Committee through full and rigorous self-governance of the Party. It is essential to uphold the Party's overall leadership, and robustly improve work conduct on a regular and long-term basis, to ensure disciplinary support for the CPPCC National Committee and its members in performing their duties, Wang noted. He also emphasized continued commitment to Party self-reform, further development of model institutions, and clear accountability for Party governance.
