The Committee on Culture, Historical Data and Studies of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) convened its fourth plenary meeting in Beijing on Jan 15.
The meeting focused on studying the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Communist Party of China Central Committee. It also reviewed the committee's work in 2025 and discussed key tasks for 2026. Vice-Chairpersons of the CPPCC National Committee Shao Hong and Jiang Xinzhi addressed the meeting.
The meeting acknowledged the committee's work in 2025, highlighting its in-depth research and improved consultations on and deliberation of State affairs. By utilizing speeches and historical documentation, and organizing feature events including the New Year gala performances and services for grassroots communities, the committee achieved positive outcomes in boosting confidence, uniting public sentiment and fostering social cohesion, the meeting noted.
This year, the committee will continue to carry out regular activities such as members reading sessions, theoretical study and political training in order to fulfill its duties by putting forth effective proposals for facilitating the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) and contributing to the development of a flourishing socialist culture in China, the meeting concluded.
