The National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held a science popularization lecture on Jan 9. CPPCC National Committee vice-chairpersons Shen Yueyue, Bater, Wang Dongfeng, Zhu Yongxin and Yang Zhen attended the event.

Cao Xuetao, a member of the CPPCC National Committee and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a lecture on immunity and disease prevention and control. He elaborated on the critical role of immunology in disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment, highlighted cutting-edge achievements and the strategic development orientation in the field, and engaged in exchanges with the audience. The event attracted over 500 participants, including CPPCC National Committee members, university students, and scientific and technological professionals.

The science popularization lecture is an important initiative of the CPPCC National Committee. It leverages the professional expertise of CPPCC members to disseminate scientific knowledge, promote scientific methods, spread scientific thinking, and foster scientific spirit, thereby contributing to building a society that values and respects science.
