The 11th Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (TDSL) held its fourth plenary session in Beijing on Dec 23.
The meeting reviewed the 2025 work reports of the Standing Committee and the Internal Supervision Committee of the TDSL Central Committee.
Su Hui, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairwoman of the TDSL Central Committee, delivered the work report on behalf of the Standing Committee of the 11th TDSL Central Committee.
Su stated that over the past year, the TDSL, focusing on strengthening performance of duties, has consolidated political consensus, strengthened self-development, and improved the quality and effectiveness of participation in and deliberation of State affairs.
The TDSL had united its members and Taiwan compatriots it maintains contact with to actively serve the overall national agenda and promote high-quality development, she noted.
Regarding work of 2026, Su called on the league to take the year of enhancing high-quality development as its overall theme, and contribute to the formulation and implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) to ensure it has a robust beginning.
She also urged efforts to give full play to the TDSL's distinctive strengths, firmly oppose "Taiwan independence" and promote national reunification, and enhance the effectiveness of united front work in the new era.
Stressing full and rigorous self-governance, Su said the TDSL should strengthen its own capacity building, better perform its duties in participation in and deliberation of State affairs, democratic supervision and political consultation under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and continue to enhance its political judgment, policy consultation, organizational leadership and cooperation capabilities, striving to be a good advisor, assistant and partner of the CPC.
