The 17th Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party (CPWDP) held its fourth plenary session in Beijing from Dec 20 to 21.
The meeting reviewed and adopted the 2025 work reports of the Standing Committee and the Internal Supervision Committee of the 17th CPWDP Central Committee.
He Wei, chairman of the CPWDP Central Committee, delivered the 2025 work report on behalf of the standing committee, while the opening meeting was chaired by Yang Zhen, executive vice-chairman of the CPWDP Central Committee.
He Wei said that in 2025, the CPWDP Central Committee improved its performance of duties and advanced self-improvement through strengthening political guidance.
With a focus on serving the country's overall development and leveraging its sector-based strengths, the CPWDP has made active and effective policy recommendations on the formulation of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30), fostering of new quality productive forces, and reform and development in key areas, he said.
The CPWDP also made steady progress in democratic supervision and social services, supporting rural vitalization and safeguarding people's livelihoods, he added.
He stressed that 2026 marks the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, calling on CPWDP members to build consensus and pool strength to promote steady and positive economic growth and contribute the party's wisdom and strength to ensuring a strong start for the plan.
