The China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) held a meeting to elect the members of its third Board of Directors and convened the first session of its third Board of Directors in Beijing on Dec 2.

Xian Hui, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the meeting.

The meeting deliberated and summarized the significant achievements and the experience gained since the CFPD's founding, especially during the period of its second Board of Directors.

The meeting named Xian chairwoman of the third Board of Directors.

The CFPD, founded in January 2011, is a national charitable organization that carries out international public welfare projects and people-to-people exchanges. To date, it has disbursed more than 300 million yuan ($42.46 million) in charitable funds.
