The Conference of Well-known Private Enterprises Supporting High-quality Development of Hainan Free Trade Port, co-hosted by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) and the Hainan provincial government, was held from Nov 27 to 29 in Haikou, South China's Hainan province.

Gao Yunlong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the ACFIC, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

Gao highlighted that building Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) is a major national strategy for reform and opening-up. He called on private entrepreneurs to think in big-picture terms, coordinate their efforts, and play their roles in promoting the development of the FTP, helping it become a new hub for high-level openness and development.

Gao urged private entrepreneurs to seize opportunities, embrace openness and innovation, and fully leverage favorable policies of the Hainan FTP. He emphasized the importance of utilizing resources in both domestic and international markets and engaging in global industrial cooperation and division of labor to facilitate the high-quality development of their enterprises while building the FTP, Gao said.

Gao spoke highly of the great progress the Communist Party of China Hainan Provincial Committee and the Hainan provincial government have made in building a first-class market-oriented, law-based and internationalized business environment.

He expressed hope that Hainan would align with international high-level economic and trade rules, strengthen reforms in major aspects, and improve foreign-related services, in a bid to steadily build a first-class business environment unique to the Hainan FTP. This will ensure that the FTP serves as a more expansive, convenient, and efficient platform attracting private enterprises for invest and break new ground.
