From Nov 26 to 28, Mu Hong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and head of the China-Africa Friendship Group of the CPPCC National Committee, led a delegation to visit Tunisia upon invitation.
During the visit, Mu met with Tunisia's Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti and President of the National Council of Regions and Districts Imed Darbali, and surveyed China-Tunisia cooperation projects.
Mu noted that the China-Tunisia relations have been elevated to strategic partnership since last May, charting a new chapter for bilateral relations. China is ready to work with the Tunisian side to implement the important consensus reached by both countries' leaders and the outcomes of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Beijing, so as to strengthen practical cooperation, he said.
Nafti stressed that Tunisia firmly adheres to the one-China principle. He congratulated the Chinese side on the holding of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Communist Party of China Central Committee, and expressed Tunisia's willingness to enhance strategic alignment and bilateral cooperation in various sectors with China.
Darbali conveyed the expectation that more Chinese enterprises can invest and start businesses in Tunisia. The National Council of Regions and Districts would like to enhance cooperation with the CPPCC National Committee and promote the high-quality development of the bilateral relationship, Darbali noted.
