Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Mu Hong, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and head of the China-Africa Friendship Group of the CPPCC National Committee, in Cairo on Nov 25.

Mu conveyed Chinese leaders' cordial greetings to Madbouly, and spoke highly of the leapfrog development of the China-Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership.

Noting that next year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Egypt, Mu said that China would like to work with Egypt to implement the results of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Beijing and the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepening bilateral pragmatic cooperation.

Madbouly asked Mu to convey his best wishes to Chinese leaders. He stressed that Egypt firmly adheres to the one-China principle, under which Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory, and opposes any external forces' interference in China's internal affairs.

Madbouly congratulated the holding of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Communist Party of China Central Committee, and expressed Egypt's willingness to enhance strategic alignment and bilateral cooperation with China.

Mu led a CPPCC delegation to visit Egypt by invitation from Nov 24 to 26, during which he also met with Essam El-Din Farid, speaker of the Egyptian Senate, and visited local China-invested enterprises.
