The General Office of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held its theoretical seminar for the fourth quarter of 2025 in Beijing on Nov 24.
The seminar focused on studying and implementing the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and understanding the guidelines, major principles and strategic deployments of socio-economic development in the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period.
Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the CPPCC National Committee and president of the China Institute of Theory on the CPPCC, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.
Wang noted that the CPPCC should do an excellent job of studying, researching, publicizing and illustrating the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session.
Wang stressed that the CPPCC should guide participating groups and personages from all ethnic groups and sectors to align their thinking and actions with the plenum's scientific assessments of the current situation and major decisions and deployments related to socio-economic development set forth in the 15th Five-Year Plan, contributing their strength to achieving decisive progress in Chinese modernization.
Wang highlighted that the CPPCC should focus on China's great achievements made during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, the international and domestic situation the country faces during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and the guiding principles, strategic tasks and major measures of socio-economic development during this period, so as to leverage its role as a special consultative institution in conducting in-depth research and providing recommendations.
