The fourth Council of the China Institute of Theory on the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) convened its third meeting in Beijing on Nov 24.
The meeting focused on studying and implementing the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and better fulfilling duties of the institute.
Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the CPPCC National Committee and president of the institute, chaired the meeting and delivered a speech.
Wang acknowledged the institute's work in implementing the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and the following plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee, achieving solid progress in theoretical studies, and ensuring further organizational development.
He also highlighted the importance of implementing the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30), conducting in-depth research and proposing forward-looking, targeted and operable suggestions, in a bid to contribute wisdom and strength to ensuring a good start to its implementation.
The meeting also reviewed and adopted the institute's 2025 work report and key tasks for 2026.
Prior to the meeting, Wang presided over the third presidential meeting of the institute's fourth Council as well as the third meeting of the fourth Standing Council.
