The third plenary session of the sixth China Economic and Social Council (CESC) was held in Beijing on Nov 18.
Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, addressed the meeting.
Wang, also chairman of the CESC, highlighted studying and implementing the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China as a major political task, and making them guidance for various tasks across the whole process of duty performance.
Wang called on the CESC to leverage its advantages in public diplomacy, people-to-people diplomacy and think tank diplomacy, and build an international communication platform.
Wang stressed the need to conduct in-depth surveys and research, propose better policy recommendations on State affairs, and enhance self-governance, so as to contribute to the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) and advancing Chinese modernization.
The meeting reviewed and approved the work report of the CESC Standing Council.
