From Nov 11 to 13, Jiang Zuojun, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of the Central Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party, led a team of non-Communist Party of China (CPC) members to survey Dali Bai autonomous prefecture, Southwest China's Yunnan province.

The survey focused on deepening reform and opening-up, and facilitating the building of the province into a pivot of China's opening-up to South and Southeast Asia.

The team visited the comprehensive transportation hub and international land port in Dali, learned about the development of plateau agricultural industry and international trade, and held in-depth discussions with local officials and enterprise representatives.

The team also held a symposium to learn about Yunnan's efforts in deepening reform and opening-up and facilitating the building of the province into a pivot of China's opening-up to South and Southeast Asia, and to solicit suggestions.

The team noted that since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, Yunnan has actively participated in Belt and Road cooperation and building the region into a pivot of China's opening-up to South and Southeast Asia, achieving tangible results.

Facing a complex and volatile international situation, the team urged Yunnan to enhance its connectivity with neighboring countries by improving infrastructure, coordinating standards, and generating consensus, so as to make the region a pivot of China's opening-up to South and Southeast Asia and serve the State's work related to neighboring countries.

The team called for leveraging the CPPCC's advantages in conducting research and proposing pragmatic and targeted policy recommendations to improve the opening-up paradigm, advance high-standard opening-up, and implement the tasks and goals set forth in the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30).
