On Nov 17, members of the theoretical study group of the leading Party members group of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee convened the 5th study session of the year.

The meeting focused on studying and implementing the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Recommendations of the CPC Central Committee for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development. It also aimed to enhance the CPPCC's role as a specialized consultative body in the formulation and implementation of the plan.

Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.

The meeting noted that the CPPCC National Committee should take studying and implementing the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session as a major political task.

The meeting emphasized the importance of fully utilizing the CPPCC's role as a specialized consultative body and highlighted the duty of its members to excel in political consultation, democratic supervision, and participation in and deliberation of State affairs, so as to build consensus and synergy for the country's modernization drive.
