On Nov 13, Shen Yueyue and Wang Guangqian, vice-chairpersons of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, conducted a survey at China Huaneng Group Co Ltd.
The survey focused on studying, publicizing, and implementing the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, during which a symposium was held on facilitating the building of a new-type energy system and a new power system.
The survey team visited the Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage Laboratory and other labs in Huaneng Clean Energy Research Institute, and held a symposium with participating CPPCC members and senior executives of China Huaneng.
During the meeting, China Huaneng's Chairman Wen Shugang gave briefings about studying and implementing the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session, and a number of CPPCC members participated in the discussion.
They noted that building China into an energy powerhouse is a new requirement for the energy sector in the drive to build the country into a great socialist country.
They called on CPPCC members to fully leverage their expertise in conducting research and making policy recommendations on major energy issues, contributing to building China into an energy powerhouse.
They also urged CPPCC members to actively participate in initiatives, such as "serving the people" and science lectures, to publicize the guiding principles of the plenary session and the tasks relating to new energy development set forth in the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30). In this way, consensus and synergy can be generated for building China into a strong energy nation and pushing forward the Chinese modernization drive, they added.
