Jiang Xinzhi, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), gave a lecture on the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to staffers of the CPPCC National Committee on Nov 6.
Jiang gave an in-depth and systematic explanation on the guiding principles from various perspectives, including China's major achievements in the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, the country's historical position, domestic situation and international environment in the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period, together with guidelines, main objectives, strategic tasks and major measures for economic and social development under the 15th Five-Year Plan.
Jiang noted that the CPPCC, as a special consultative body, should focus on the central tasks of the Party and the State, and fulfill its duties to conduct research on major theoretical and practical issues of economic and social development in the 15th Five-Year Plan period and offer policy recommendations accordingly.
More active efforts should be made to promote cooperation between the CPPCC and other consultative channels, and to advance extensive, multilevel, and institutionalized development of consultative democracy, Jiang said.
Wang Dongfeng, vice-chairman and secretary-general of the CPPCC National Committee, chaired the meeting. The CPPCC National Committee's vice-chairpersons Hu Chunhua, Wang Yong and Yang Zhen attended the event.
