The 18th China-Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Business Summit opened in Zhengzhou, Central China's Henan province, on Nov 3.

He Baoxiang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

He noted that China and LAC are among the most dynamic and promising countries and regions in the world, and enhancing China-LAC cooperation is a natural choice in line with global development trends. Looking ahead, the two sides should strengthen strategic alignment, deepen opening-up and cooperation, and grasp opportunities for innovation-driven development, to deliver more tangible results in the building of a China-LAC community with a shared future.

The event, themed "Embracing Innovation and Intelligence for a Shared Future", was co-hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the Henan provincial government and the People's Bank of China. More than 1,000 people attended the event, including government officials, experts and business representatives from China and LAC countries as well as representatives from international organizations.
