On Oct 31, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Fiji's embassy in China co-hosted a reception in Beijing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

Xian Hui, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the gathering. More than 100 people, including representatives from various sectors in China and Fiji, and foreign envoys in China, were present at the reception.
