On Oct 27, a team of members from the Committee on Proposals of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) visited the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD) and held a meeting to hear and solicit advice for the proposal work.

Zhu Yongxin, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and executive vice-chairman of the CAPD Central Committee, addressed the gathering.

Zhu noted that the CAPD Central Committee has insisted on improving quality and efficiency throughout the entire process of proposal work, and has formed a standardized, quality-oriented, efficient and coordinated mechanism. The CAPD Central Committee will adhere to the guiding principles of the fourth plenary session of the 20th Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, and propose policy recommendations centered on Chinese modernization, so as to support the implementation of the CPC Central Committee's strategies, he said.

Liu Jiayi, chairman of the Committee on Proposals of the CPPCC National Committee, gave an overview of the work on proposals since the first session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee in 2023, and the plan for proposal work for the coming year. He Zhimin, vice-chairman of the CAPD Central Committee, introduced the proposals of the CAPD Central Committee that are expected to be submitted at the fourth session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee in 2026. Meeting participants held an in-depth discussion on improving the quality of proposals and the efficiency of proposal handling.

Since the first session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee in 2023, the CAPD Central Committee has submitted 146 proposals in the fields of education, culture, science and technology, environmental protection, and social governance. Some among them have been selected as key proposals of the CPPCC National Committee.
