The Central Committee of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League (TDSL) held a symposium and launched an exhibition to mark the establishment of the Commemoration Day of Taiwan's Restoration on Oct 26 in Beijing. TDSL members, representatives of Taiwan compatriots and descendants of patriots who fought against Japanese aggression were invited to participate.

Su Hui, vice-chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chairwoman of the TDSL Central Committee, made remarks at the symposium.

Su noted that the establishment of the commemoration day demonstrates China's commitment to defending its sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. TDSL organizations at all levels should inherit historic value and national spirit carried by Taiwan's restoration, and transform the consensus built through commemorative events into wisdom and strength to advance the cause of national reunification and rejuvenation, she stressed.

More than 300 pictures, documents, excerpts, artifacts, and multi-media works were displayed at the TDSL's historical exhibition hall, systematically showcasing Taiwan's resistance against Japanese aggression and its restoration.
