Zhu Yongxin, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, led a team from the Committee on Education, Science, Health and Sports of the CPPCC National Committee to survey Zhejiang province from Oct 20 to 24. The survey focused on promoting digital education.

The team visited primary schools, middle schools, vocational schools and colleges in the cities of Jiaxing, Zhoushan and Shaoxing, held symposiums, and discussed creating new study environments with assistance of artificial intelligence.

The team noted that digital education can drive the development of modern and high-quality education. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 2012, the CPC Central Committee has made digital education a top priority in building China into a digital country and education power, they said. Zhejiang, with its rich educational resources, has explored new pathways for the digital transformation of the entire education process and system, achieving remarkable results, according to the team.

The team stressed that the CPPCC, as a specialized consultative body, should leverage its expertise and contribute wisdom and strength to promoting healthy, sustainable and high-quality development of digital education.
