On Oct 16, the Committee on Social and Legal Affairs of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee held a consultative meeting for the handling of key proposals at China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, focusing on improving the training of technical workers. He Baoxiang, vice-chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, addressed the meeting. In-depth discussions were held on upgrading the systems of training, use, evaluation and encouragement of technical talents and on educating more high-quality workers.

The meeting stated that during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period, Chinese technical talents' scale has expanded with higher quality and a more advanced structure. China has embarked on the new journey of building a strong country and achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese modernization, which raises higher requirements for technical talents. The meeting emphasized the role of model workers and the leading role of enterprises in cultivating talents, and stressed the need to improve the talent evaluation system and develop high-quality talent education.

Before the meeting, participants toured the academy's workshops and held discussions with worker representatives. Officials from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions gave briefings about progress in processing the proposals and their future plans. CPPCC members who have made the proposals held in-depth discussions with them on issues of concern.
