On Oct 14, the fourth National Exhibition of Paintings and Calligraphy Works, held by the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK), opened at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing.

Zheng Jianbang, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and chairman of the Central Committee of the RCCK, attended and officially opened the exhibition. He Baoxiang, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and executive vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the RCCK, addressed the event.

He stated that since 2021, the central committees of non-Communist parties and public figures without party affiliation have received a commission from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to conduct five-year democratic oversight on environmental protection of the Yangtze River. This year marks the 20th anniversary since the concept "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" was proposed, and is the final year of the said oversight, He noted. The exhibition, with the theme of "jointly painting a clean river", invited 30 RCCK organizations at the provincial level to create a large painted scroll to tell the story of the environmental protection and high-quality development along the Yangtze River, demonstrating the non-Communist parties' oversight efforts, according to He.

He emphasized that the correct direction of cultural and artistic careers should be maintained and cultural workers should voluntarily integrate their artistic pursuits into China's development to create more excellent works worthy of this great era, great nation, and great people.
